Frequently asked questions
API keys & safety
How do my API keys stay safe?
Short version: GeekLair sells files. We don't ask for or receive your keys.
- 1 · You create the keyIn your own Anthropic Console account (n8n versions only).
- 2 · You add it in n8nIn n8n's own credential screen, which keeps it in n8n's credential store.
- 3 · The template points to itOur files only contain an empty credential slot. There's never a key inside.
The Prompt version runs inside your own custom GPT or Grok Bot. It doesn't need an Anthropic key, and you don't give us anything to use it. Our pages, forms and emails don't ask for keys. If a message claiming to be us does, don't reply. Contact [email protected] instead.
Is there a key or password inside the template file?
No. Before every release we scan each file for anything that looks like a key, token or personal data. Templates ship with blank credential slots that you fill in on your own platform.
What permissions should I give?
Only the ones the checklist lists. We follow least privilege: each template uses the smallest set of actions it needs. For example, Inbox Triage only reads, labels and creates drafts. It never sends or deletes. Where a provider lets you create a restricted or project-scoped key, the checklist shows you how.
How do I rotate or revoke a key?
Create a new key in the Anthropic Console, update it in n8n's credential screen, then disable or delete the old key in the Console. To stop a template completely, deactivate the workflow or revoke the key. Either takes about a minute. We suggest rotating keys every few months, and right away if you think one leaked.
Will this run up a big AI bill?
n8n versions: Uses your own Anthropic (Claude) API key, typically low-cost. The templates use small, short requests. You can also set a spending limit in the Anthropic Console so costs can't creep up unnoticed. The Prompt version runs in your own custom GPT or Grok Bot and doesn't use an Anthropic key.
Do you run any servers that touch my data?
No. The templates run inside your own n8n or chatbot account, and GeekLair doesn't run a server in between. We see only your email address (if you join the list) and your Gumroad purchase record.
Buying & using templates
What exactly do I get?
An n8n workflow file and/or a copy-paste Prompt version, plus a step-by-step setup guide.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. If you can copy and paste and click through a sign-in screen, you can set these up.
What does "tested" mean?
Each version is run end to end on a fresh account. Until every version of a template has passed, its card says Testing in progress. After that, it shows the date it passed. The 3 free templates were live-tested on October 17, 2026; paid templates get the same test before they go on sale.
Which platforms are supported?
At launch: n8n and the Prompt version (copy-paste for custom GPTs and Grok Bot). Every template ships with both. For alert and watcher templates, the Prompt version is on-demand: it checks when you ask, while the n8n version runs on a schedule. Make and Zapier versions are planned but not available yet. The $39 all-platform-versions option includes every version available at the time you buy (today: n8n and Prompt).
Will an email template ever send email for me?
No. Inbox Triage and Inbox Triage Pro create drafts only. You review and send them yourself.
How does checkout work?
Through Gumroad. Buy buttons are plain links to gumroad.com, where you pay and download. GeekLair never sees your card details.
What's in the $59 bundle?
All platform versions of the five current paid templates: Inbox Triage Pro, Job Hunter Pro, Stock & Crypto Watcher, Game-Deal Tracker, Subscription & Bill Tracker. Future templates aren't included. A membership for those is coming later.
Can I get a refund?
Yes: 30-day money-back guarantee. Ask through Gumroad (reply to your receipt) or email [email protected] within 30 days; the refund is issued through Gumroad. See the terms.
What's the catch with the free templates?
No catch. Download them on Gumroad (pay what you want, $0 is fine). If you join the list, you get one short email when a new tested template drops. Unsubscribe anytime and keep the templates.
